There were jazz fans who’d come all the wayfrom Sydney, dining at our table the night I went, and a couple on a table nearby got engaged which had the whole room singing and cheering. Like I said, it’s a pretty special night out for everyone – lovers of jazz, fine food and wine and of course the timeless beauty of travelling by steam train. Book now to avoid missing out.

cinematography live on in the Dandenong Ranges to this day through the much acclaimed Hillside Film Festival.
The festival takes place at the Cameo’s Outdoor Cinema, set amongst the leafy backdrop of the Dandenongs’ biggest creative hub, Belgrave. as well. Heading out with old friends, it was clear to see that there were so many new places that had sprung up in the Dandenongs that were bringing a new life to the traditional doilies and lace. Funky cafes, exceptional music venues, artistic locations and new developments had given my hometown a new feel, a new lease on life.
